In order to give a better definition of the title «Survival Tips» we should mention first to whom it concerns mainly reading this article.
So it mainly concerns them:
- young people who have graduated from Secondary Education and are looking for a job or are heading to Higher Education,
- persons who, regardless of educational level, have completed the 18th year of their age, as well as
- those who wish to improve their daily lives and make it easier in what it has to do with their dealings with the Public Services regardless of age,
provided that all of the above have obtained a TIN (Greek Tax ID).
We should also mention that this article will try in simple words and not with tax or legal concepts and references, so that it can communicate the information we want to provide you, even to someone who has not dealt again. with similar issues.
Finally, it will not be a detailed technical guide on exactly how to make each transaction, as firstly there is a plethora of guides per transaction (or application) on the internet and secondly we recommend that you consult your Accountant before making any move.
Essentially, this article is a list of tips and Tips that will save you time, money, will give you and your Accountant the necessary tools to start your transaction with the Public Services and will help maintain it. good functioning of your nervous system!
Yes you heard right!
The Public Services can often very easily be a test for strong nerves, from the simplest to the most complex procedures.
This is primarily due to the institutionalized and legislative functions and bureaucracy, and not through the fault of the workforce and employees.
Strange as it may seem to some, there are people in the Public Services, and there are not a few in number, who work with characteristic self-denial, will, humanity and above all knowledge, to serve the public, but often the operating system as is structured makes it difficult for themselves, the State itself which often loses important resources, but much more the citizen who wants to do his job, here and now and without any difficulty.
This here and now, is largely covered by the integration of technology in these processes, which if we use carefully and prudently will really solve our hands.
So let's see what one can do to make his daily life with the Public Services easier.
# 1 Mobile Phone, Bank & Internet Banking (Let's start with the simple!)
So given that you have obtained a TIN, if you want to make your transactions easier with the State, you must first start with the simple.
It is very important to have a Greek phone number in your possession (preferably in one of the 3 providers: Vodafone, Cosmote or Wind)
In addition, it is important to have one Bank Account, in your name (principal beneficiary) and to have up-to-date contact details at the Bank (especially at the contact telephone number mentioned above) as well as to have Internet Banking Login Credentials for this Bank Account.
All 3 above mentioned variables, the mobile phone number as well as the bank account and access to it through Internet Banking will be extremely useful as with their help you will be able to certify the validity of your data and use many online public services, doing your job many times in 1 minute!
#2 Special Key & A.A.D.E. Login Credentials (the Beginning!)
So we are at the point where you have your Tax Identification Number, Telephone Number as well as Bank Account with updated contact details and Internet Banking codes. So it's time for the next and one of the most important steps. The issuance of Taxisnet codes.
In order to obtain Taxisnet (or A.A.D.E.) codes, you must first obtain a Special Key Number.
The Key Number is a special, unique code for each taxpayer, with the use of which we will be able to issue codes, and is essentially the key that allows us to enter using the codes issued in the online services.
To get a key number there are 3 different alternatives which we will record with decreasing degree of difficulty:
- The «Traditional» one (or in other words, the most difficult)
- You make the application for obtaining a key number online (preferably through an Accountant who is also the person in charge and knows what he is doing) and then you make an appointment with the competent Tax Office. where you must be present with a physical presence either you or someone who will be authorized by you through a K.E.P. This process can take a long time, as due to a large workload at the Tax Office. the appointment can be set very long in time and you may have an immediate need to obtain the codes.
- The «I try to modernize and I do not succeed» (or in other words, the difficult one)
- You apply online for a key number (preferably through an Accountant who is also responsible and knows what he is doing) and then you make an online appointment (which will be made via video call) with an employee of A.A.D.E. This process, although less difficult than 1st, it can also be greatly delayed, as the available appointments are probably, and with the experience so far from the use of this method, it is quite a long time later than the date of the electronic application while at the same time you may encounter problems such as equipment (you will need a camera and microphone or mobile Smartphone) or network problems (do not run the Internet!)
- The «I modernized as much as I could» (or in other words, the easy one) (Recommended)
- You make the application for obtaining a key number online (preferably through an Accountant who is also responsible and knows what he is doing). In contrast to the above 2 cases, if you have obtained a mobile phone number and a Bank Account, you can include them in the application. This will lead to the certification of your details electronically through the bank and through the mobile provider and this will result in you receiving most of the key in the contact email that will be stated in the application, while the last 5 digits of the Key will come in the mobile yours via SMS. It is the easiest and fastest way to date to receive the Key Number.
#3 A.A.D.E's Login Credentials Issuannce (Finish Him!)
You have now gone through the torment of the above process, whichever way you choose, and you are now in possession of precious Special Key Number!
It is important to note that although it is precious, it will actually play a role in the issuance of Taxisnet codes and then it will be practically insignificant and will not serve anywhere.
However, we recommend that you keep it in case you need it at some point. If you choose to perform the above steps as well as this through an Accountant, then in all probability he will keep it for you and you will be able to pump it again in case of need.
All that remains to be done to issue Taxisnet codes is to activate an account on the system and set a Username and Password.
We recommend that you consult an Accountant and for this process who will know exactly what he is doing.
#4 GOV.GR – Part 1 (Smells Like Teen Spirit!)
Until recently, in order to make a transaction with the Public Services, you had to either appear in person at the competent Public Service, or make an electronic application and wait a few hours, days (or even months!) in order to be completed and receive the document you declared for.
This bureaucratic approach was greatly reduced by its launch gov.gr.
A large number of transactions with the State have been channeled into the site, where you can within a minute to complete something that would take you days, using the Taxisnet codes that you entered in the previous step.
It is a real innovation for all of us who have repeatedly dealt with the Public Services and have suffered the bureaucracy and delays in procedures, no matter how simple it may seem.
For example, you can very easily issue a Marital Status Certificate (which you may need as a document) within a minute, download it to your mobile phone, without even having to know where the Municipality or the K.E.P. is located!
Although most of the transactions do not require anything more than the use of Taxisnet codes, there are some important transactions (eg authorization, affirmation, etc.), which in order to use them you have to follow a different approach, for this and we will dedicate another Tip, for GOV.GR.
#5 GOV.GR – Part 2 – Authorization– Affirmation (Go Certify yourself!)
Many times you will need to make an affirmation or authorization. Until the launch of gov.gr, the way was one. You went to a K.E.P., or a police station, or to a lawyer etc, and you issued the affirmation with the original of your signature.
This often took a long time, a lot of waiting, while other times it was expensive.
Now, with the gov.gr, you can easily issue an Affirmation or an Authorization ONLINE!
Can you do it only with Taxisnet codes?
The answer is YES, you can if you first perform a certification process so that you can later use only the Taxisnet codes.
To perform this certification process you will need the Internet Banking codes we mentioned at the beginning.
You practically need to connect here once, with the Interne Banking codes of the bank of your choice, to give your consent and approval for certification of data between a bank and A.A.D.E. (Taxisnet), fill in your phone number and… CERTIFIED!
From this point on, without the need for Internet Banking codes again, you can issue the Affirmations and Authorizations you need.
If you do not want to do the above certification, you can still issue the above only by using Internet Banking codes.
However, being certified and having the ability to issue the above documents using Taxisnet codes, you enable your Accountant to be able to help you when you need it, as well as you have a security valve in case you lose your Internet Banking codes.
No need to worry because for security reasons, any of the above documents you issued, a Confirmation Code will always come on your mobile phone in order to confirm the authenticity of your signature.
Concluding this step, we recommend that, for the certification process, you do it preferably yourself, otherwise, with a person you trust blindly, while for the process of issuing the documents, you should always consult your Accountant who knows how to do it and knows also the necessary words needed for the correctness and completeness of the documents.
#6 Google it First (or GOV it!)
Before you go into the process of going to a public service to do the job you want, first make an effort to do a search on Google with the theme of the transaction you want.
You will be amazed at how much work has been done on gov.gr , through which there are already and constantly increasing, the transactions that one can make with the public.
Some Examples:
- Authorization
- Affirmation
- Birth certificate
- Statements of Birth from the Municipality

#7 The Accountant (The Accountant)
Having done all the above, what remains and what we recommend, is to consult the specialist, who in this case is the Accountant, who can help you, having the above tools, to make your daily transactions with the Public Services easier.
We know that sometimes the cost of consulting an Accountant can be a deterrent, but it will definitely save you time and money guiding you through the exact steps of a process as well as taking all the necessary steps to complete your transactions safely and accurately, while keeping the necessary file you will have at your disposal the necessary proofs that may be needed in the future.
